Cloud Monitoring and Reporting engineer for IoT
The PTC Cloud Monitoring and Reporting Engineer implement and tune monitoring solutions to allow Cloud engineers to detect proactively future issues before they impact the customers and delivers internal and customer reports in terms of application availability and usage.
The employee helps to advance and modernize PTC’s NOC Cloud processes, maintains and enhances Monitoring Tools, design SaaS integrations and provides automated solution.
The employee is responsible for interaction with different groups, advising on capabilities of Monitoring solutions, and implementation of those solutions in coordination and under the prioritization of Service Operation team.
Responsibilities:
- Setup, activation and deactivation of monitoring aligned with environment provisioning and decommissioning
- Maintain and tune existing monitoring (multi-products, multi-architecture, multi-cloud)
- Maintain and extend existing reporting (excel, scripts that generate pdf)
- Analyze and improve current internal and external reports, develop new KPIs and new reports allowing to better monitor and report the activity to the customers
- This role may involve some interaction with the customer

Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering / Computer Science
- Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems Administration & shell scripting
- Knowledge of Distributed Architecture
- Understanding of web technologies like Apache and JBoss
- Strong motivation to learn new technologies
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Ability to adapt & contribute to a continuously evolving environment
- Ability to work and contribute in a Worldwide distributed team and multicultural environment
- AWS / Azure experience
- Experience with Docker container on cloud platform
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (Zabbix, Catchpoint, SumoLogic, etc )
- Experience with Python Developer role
- Experience in supporting RESTful APIs.
- Experience implementing configuration management tools (Terraform, Salt-Stack…)
- Ability to understand and build complex workflows.
- Willingness to learn and experiment with cutting-edge cloud technologies.
- Strong diagnostic and Troubleshooting Skills
- Flexible, detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multitask and work independently
- Experience or certifications of Public Cloud like Azure or AWS is a plus
- Experience of IoT Platform – Thingworx, Axeda, IOT Hub is a plus
- Experience of Java-based application administration is a plus
