ABOUT TEAM: Data Masking is part of the Data Governance function within the Data Services team. The Data Governance team is responsible for ensuring that data governance processes are documented and implemented in alignment with Morgan Stanley policy. This includes data quality, catalogs, business ownership, and data masking. Data Services encompasses a broader mandate that includes a team of data analysts responsible for ensuring external data coming into Parametric is complete, of good quality, and fit for purpose.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Data Masking Analyst will partner with the Data Governance Manager to implement and support the mandated Morgan Stanley data masking program for Parametric. This role will engage with Parametric operational and technology teams, as well as the Morgan Stanley data governance team, to ensure the implementation meets internal requirements and is delivered on time. Communication of project status and updates to Data Governance management will be a key component of this work.
- Work with internal Parametric business and technology data owners to identify and document any PII data fields in our non-Production data stores. This should be based on industry standard and Morgan Stanley standard sensitive data guidance.
- Review findings with all relevant data stakeholders to get agreement on fields in scope.
- Define masking rules for each field based on standard masking guidelines.
- Partner with the Delphix tool lead to create, test, and implement these rules for each data set in scope.
- Act as the SME for the Data Masking project, report status updates and risks to the Data Governance Manager and project team.
